Wear Gardeners

Description

We are two lady gardeners based in the Heart of Weardale in Co Durham.
We offer a friendly, knowledgeable service in all aspects of garden maintenance based on sound horticultural methods.
We will care for lawns, hedges and borders, carry out seasonal planting and pruning, tackle plant pests and diseases as well as weeds in your garden and give advice on all gardening problems.
We will help with all aspects of fruit and vegetable growing if needed.
Individual design and planting schemes carried out with all plants sourced locally or self-grown wherever possible to minimise environmental impact.
No job is too small for us from a tiny lawn to half an acre, from a hanging basket to sweeping borders.
Your beautiful garden needs our loving care!

Qualifications & Experience

From early childhood I have been obsessed with plants and growing them for decoration or food but took the path of a primary school teacher for a couple of decades before the pull of the earth won the battle.
I retrained in Horticulture at Houghall College in Durham and gained a pass with Distinction in the National Certificate in Horticulture in 2000.
I spent a year on the other side of the fence at Houghall as an Instructor with one of the specialised learning groups and instructing school groups.
On making the decision to offer my own gardening service, I established Wear Gardeners working as a solo act for most of the time. I now employ my daughter as a trainee gardener.
